How about some respectful debate and situational awareness?

First of all one thing I am absolutely tired of is this notion that the science is settles regarding the best way to combat this virus.  Call me crazy but back when I was in high school science was debated what was the best way to do this and no that is not the way to interpret the results you need  to do it this way.  Sure there were disagreements and over the course of years treatments for things changed but there was (at least to my knowledge) this branding of people that disagreed as idiots, stupid, and other derogatory things.

So yes it is confusing to here the change in guidance, don't wear masks, do wear masks, don't wear it.  I get it and it is annoying but I get it and I try to roll with it.  But I also believe that we are not exactly sure what the best thing to do is, we are still learning and doing some trial an error because not everyone interprets things the same way, lets be respectful as we the people and the scientists muddle through this.

Let's remember that NYC maybe dominating the news (at least that is the way it seems to me, ymmv) but NYC is nothing like where I live.  I don't have the same concerns living here that I would in NYC.  For example if I were to take a walk in NYC, I would be wearing a mask because there is a high population density.  Here I don't wear a mask because I don't see anyone or if I do they are at least 6 feet (usually more) away from me.  When I go into a store here, yep wear a mask because we cannot always maintain the appropriate distance.

The whole mask thing to wear or not wear I look at it like this, wear what is appropriate for the situation.  If I were to go onto a construction site I would not wear shorts, t-shirt and flip flops, I would wear at the very least jeans, shirt, and closed toe footwear, preferably some type of boot.  So yes, when I go into a store a mask is appropriate for now, doesn't mean I have to like it but it seems like a reasonable accommodation and precaution for now.  If wearing one means I get to resume some normal activities, meh annoying but I can do it.
