Looking to the future
I need to set some new short and medium term goals to focus on while I work to my big goal, which I have yet to mention. I don't know if I want to put it out there or not because it is a scary to me number and honestly it is embarrassing even though I know I am not the only one in my situation. And as I think about this I have certainly dropped breadcrumbs about what I want to lose and how much so lets just put the scary out there so it is not so scary.
From my heaviest which as I mentioned before was a few years ago, I would like to lose 85 pounds. So if I look at the amount I lost prior to this fresh start and combine it with what I have lost in the past 30ish days I have lost 26 of the 85. Do you know what that means?🎉 🥳 It means that I am just over ONE QUARTER of the way to my goal!!!!! Because 85/4=21.25 and I am at 26!! 🎉 🥳

Medium Term Goal (12-13 weeks from now (roughly Dec 15))
- Lose another quarter of my goal which would put me at 50% of the way to my goal
- Go down another BMI class
Short Term Goal (4-5 weeks from now)
- Lose 6-8 pounds (translation I would need to lose 2 lbs per week for 4 weeks to hit the top end of that target)
- I want to give myself a range because life happens, although I don't want to be sick I don't know if there will be days I just cannot fit in the exercise or if I fall off the wagon. I want to set achievable goals while still challenging myself a bit.
- Feel stronger, be able to kneel without resting my bum at Mass
- Be able to add in some of the more difficult moves in my cardio routines in a consistent manner.
Immediate Goal (within a week)
- Wear that skirt that I talked about a few days ago that was just a bit tight
- Reach my 28-day goal within my Scaless App. My target date is in 3 days, to reach that goal I need to lose 0.4lbs. This is totally doable
- Scaless sets weight loss goals for you (you can adjust how much weight and how long to get there if you are not happy with what they prefill for you).
My dilemma
Today I put on a pair of jeans, and they are really baggy and saggy, this is the good part. Last night I took some measurements and compared them to previous measurements and since I last took them I lost about 2 inches off each thigh. The problem is that I hate shopping and right now it is looking like I will need to do so, but I fear shopping. One because I hate it, two because I hate the way jeans fit me, I have had to in the past and I anticipate I will still need to do this, buy a larger size to fit my thighs which means the rise (the part around my hips and waist) will be too big.
The reality is that I need to do this because this is a celebration of a victory, my pants are just too darn big. My shape has certainly changed a bit so there is always the possibility that the shopping experience could be better than I fear. So I am going to add some additional immediate goals right here:
- Try on all my jeans, identify which ones are just too baggy to be acceptable to wear in public and which ones are baggy but acceptable.
- Donate the jeans that no longer fit
- Shop and purchase and addition pair or two (depending on how many fit)
Something to celebrate
Today after Mass a lady from the choir came up to me and asked if I had been losing weight and said that I looked good. Imagine that in my saggy baggy jeans and all! She also followed up and inquired if it was expected and she hoped that I was not sick. I told her nope not sick just a lot of hard work and I thanked her for her kind words. She said she did the same thing a lot of hard work and not being sick. Then as we were in the parking lot another lady told me that I was looking good as well. I needed those kind words from outside my support network.
