So frustrating

 Double standards....I do loath them.

I am not a fan of cancel culture, but I do believe that people need to be accountable for their actions.  You can be held accountable without being canceled.

I also think I can respect someone's work while not agreeing with their personal political opinions.  I also think you can agree that a specific statement or goal has merit but not agree on how to achieve that goal.  By having different ideas of how to achieve it does not mean you are 'anti' whatever.

I really enjoyed the Mandalorian....I was not a fan of what Pedro Pascal posted especially considering his pictures were supposedly depicting the US but they were from another country.  But he can say stuff I just turn the channel so to speak.  I respect his work and disagree with his personal opinion, it can happen.  I understand Gina Carano's point and I see the relevance, but I personally shy away for comparisons like that but they are perfectly valid.  She was not denigrating anyone with her post.  I see the double standard and that is what has me frustrated.

The point is that we have all made comments that don't translate well, or were stated to play the devil's advocate and get people thinking.  We have all been inarticulate at some point.  I would rather give people the benefit of the doubt and acknowledge that they are human and we are not all going to agree with what others say.

The most frustrating part of all this cancel this but not that is the hypocrisy.  If you want to cancel then have the same standard for everyone, the same standard that you use for people that think differently than you has to be the same standard as people that think the same way you do.  If you do that then there will be no one make music, shows, movies, or write books etc.  We are all fallible and human and inept at times.

So fire all or fire none, cherry picking is part of what is driving anger and frustration and backlash.
